Greetings!

The Covid-19 Pandemic may have deterred our progress over the last two years but certainly not our spirits. We faced unprecedented challenges but continued to hold on to our goals and responsibilities. With the return of students to the school towards mid- session last year, the school campus finally began brimming with life.

Kalangan was once again successfully organised in December 2021 bringing colours back into the life of our children. With the Kissa Kahani Story Telling Carnival we were quite successful in providing a much needed digital platform to the budding story tellers. The 2nd Virtual Talent hunt brought forth the hidden talents of the students.

Our Animation & Robotics Labs have been further upgraded to meet the requirements of the present day.

We are all set to usher into the new academic session 2022-23 with a rigorous academic plan and creative co-curricular activities to make up for the loss incurred by the pandemic in the last two years

I am grateful to our parents’ fraternity for their overwhelming participation and cooperation. I whole-heartedly welcome all of you to the session 2022-23.

Dear Well-wishers,

Greetings!

In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak DPS DAULATPUR was quick to adapt to the unprecedented situation and adopt new and innovative methods of teaching-learning to tackle the crisis and thus continue to render education to its students. We were successful in offering effective online education to our students right from beginning according to a wellstructured timetable. Not only did we cater to the scholastic needs of our children but we also took care of the co-scholastic aspect necessary for their development by integrating Physical Education and Sports, Music and Dance, Arts and Craft with our scholastic programme.

Despite all odds, we continued to offer a plethora of ONLINE activities and opportunities to our students to nurture their potential. Our children continue to bring laurels to the school, with Aishwarya Bohra of Class-X receiving an award from the honourable Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, for her painting at the prestigious competition organised by the Times of India and UREDA. Kalangan – the Inter School creative art and craft competition – continued to nurture the artistic talent of students across the city by offering online participation.

Virtual Talent Hunt 2020-21 offered students the opportunity to showcase their creative talents online. The programme received an overwhelming response from both students and parents alike. With over 2,000 likes to her name, Aahana Choudhary of class I-B emerged as the winner.

The pandemic could not curb our fervour for our culture as we celebrated all festivals and occasions online with great zeal and passion. Beautiful videos of all occasions are readily available on the school portal and the YouTube for all to watch. The online version of our newsletter Smrityansh is a beautiful showcase of all the activities that took place round the year

The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for 2019-20 which got postponed due to the pandemic was organised in the month of January and February 2021. Students received their trophies and certificates from eminent personalities of the town.

Assessment was conducted throughout the year with online tests and examinations through Microsoft Forms. Oral test and viva were also held to test the understanding of the students. Our teachers continued to upgrade their skills and knowledge by participating in online teachers’ training programmes offered by the CBSE and by the Delhi Public School Society.

Parents play a vital role in not only nurturing the child but also in shaping her/his personality, inculcating good habit, values and character. In the current scenario, the role of parents becomes all the more important. I am thankful to our parents’ fraternity for their patience and support during the pandemic. I am hopeful that they will continue to support and cooperate with the school in its pursuit for excellence.

I extend a very warm and cordial welcome to you to the New Academic Session 2021-22.

Dear Students, Parents and all my Staff members,

It gives me great pleasure to share my excitement and pass on my most heartfelt thoughts to you, as I start my new journey with you. Together we shall strive to create new possibilities and aim to scale new heights.

I am honoured indeed to continue with the Delhi Public School family. I have had the privilege to tend to another venture in similar nascent stages. I have seen the sapling take shape into a lovely tree, spreading its branches proudly as I lovingly tended to it and there is no greater pleasure in seeing your dreams take shape. I am here to give my best to help you make your dreams come true.

I was impressed by our Management team here from the time I met them. I was moved by their passion, concern and commitment towards making a success of this venture, to give an opportunity to the children of this beautiful place and the surrounding areas a chance to dream, to spread their wings and soar high! I am sincerely committed to be a part of your dream, I shall be privileged indeed to be able to make a difference!

We are blessed to be in the proximity of the holy Ganges! This proximity should remind us to take pride in our spiritual history. Spirituality is not limited by the confines of any religion but extends to all humanity. Above all, we should not forget that our children are the community’s greatest asset.

We at DPS focus on building strength of character as topmost in our list of best practices; our aim is that our children stand out for high ethics and moral values when they leave the corridors of our school. We at DPS are driven to ensure the children grow to great heights where the sky is the only limit. To quote Jean Piaget, the famous Swiss child development psychologist-

“The principal goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done.”

Our school has a very dedicated staff that will ensure our children grow into capable and confident adults with skills necessary to grab the 21st century by its horns. Students need to be nurtured and given access to opportunities of all possible kinds to learn, to grow, to challenge their minds and to achieve their true potential. We at DPS will nurture our children, provide them with care and opportunities to grow and showcase their talent. The DPS program exposes the students to national and potentially international competitions. All these provide venue for overall growth to the students.

Our DPS program is a well-rounded program with extensive classroom education and a balance of extra-curricular activities. We want to ensure our students are academically strong and grow with basic values of respect-respect for other human beings, animals, culture and nature.

I welcome your help and healthy cooperation to take our school to great heights in the years to come. This DPS may be the start of bigger and better things for our community. Our students bolstered by our school will prove to be the real wealth or 'daulat' for this place.

May God bless us in all our endeavours.

Regards

Poonam Shrivastava
